When you are helping others, giving of your time resources, how does it feel? Joyful? Or JOYELY as we say here!
When you you fully take up a project expecting nothing in return, feeling joyful is natural, easy and powerful. By giving time, money, food, or kindness to people in need you have captured the essence of joy, of living of truly making joy a priority. Giving to others is a quality — like honesty and patience — that we all probably wish we had more of. When you show generosity, you might give away things or money or put others before yourself.
The good feeling you get from doing something for someone else acts on your body the same way physical exercise does, releasing a flood of endorphins that make you feel joy. This hormone rush is the “helper high” that many people report feeling.
Since you get more joy but of giving to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give. As there is a famous saying:
“As we work to create light for others, we naturally light our own way.”
Life’s persistent and most urgent question is, “What are you doing for others?”
I am a loving, caring individual. I have regard for others as well as for myself. When I see others in need, I cannot help but feel compassion for their situation.
Seeing others in distress reminds me of times in my life where I have received help too.
Since then, I find that the joy in giving is just as great as in receiving. Seeing worried looks turn to tears of joy because of my help is a priceless gift!
I look for ways to give to others.
Giving can be as simple as donating a few dollars or spare change to a worthy cause. I can go out of my way to look for a coworker or friend who needs to be cheered up. Or I can donate my time through volunteer work.
It always makes me happy to see the joy of others who have received my gifts.
Today, I am certain to find at least one way in which I can give to someone in need. Whether I donate money or simply provide a listening ear, I know that the resources it takes are small compared to the happiness that I receive in return.
As I give to others, I remember that giving not only creates joy in my life but also that paying it forward creates kindness around the world.
