To Live Your Life on Purpose, Find Joy in Each Day

Life is a blessing but for some people, it doesn’t feel quite like maybe it should or could. There are so many reasons, especially now, 2020 has been the year that tipped us all upside down and inside out. It’s important to realize that life is precious and we still get to wake up each day. We can choose joy. We decide what we what our day to look like, and it is usually a decision you make in the first few hours of waking up. Will you choose joy no matter what the circumstances or will the circumstances take over and ruin your day?

Days could bleed into one another and potentially you will look around one day and years will have passed. When you look back you may wonder where the time went. Start living your life by determining your own beliefs and values, because your core values are deeply held beliefs that authentically describe your soul. And guess what? Today is the day you choose joy, there is no better day than today, right now. It is usually quite simple for most, an upgrade in your attitude from, “I choose to be miserable,” to “I choose joy!”

Quick disclaimer, its daily work, joyful is not easy-breezy, it takes dedication and commitment to choose joy almost. But is free and it is for everyone.

Quick Assessment:
Your beliefs become your thoughts:
Do you believe joy is just for other people, are you included?

Your thoughts become your words:
When you awake in the morning, do you think, Oh Shit, or YES, Let’s do this?!

Your words become your actions:
If you say I will never understand this enough to make my dreams come true, which leads to giving up, or do you ask for help and possibly look for a new solution?

Your actions become your habits:
Do you avoid all interactions that might support your goals, or do you reach out, research, meditate and relax, knowing that everything will be ok?

Your habits become your values:
is running away the new way, or do you now embrace the ups and downs?

Your values become your destiny:
Are you the failure you have convinced yourself of, or have you set your life to be a magical journey each day?

Always set your priorities by knowing what is important for you and what makes you feel joy.

“The key is not to prioritize what’s on your schedule, but to schedule your priorities.”

Follow your passion: Pick something that makes you feel giddy inside. Mediate on it, sit still and breathe. It will come. Then ask for what you need to do what you love. You are not the first one here, many have gone before and they want to help you.

Achieve balance: It easy to get lost in the feeling that you are running out of time. But there is no time except this moment. If this moment is filled with joy you have achieved your new attitude, you have chosen joy. Add up all of these and your days will be filled with ups and downs, but mostly an even level of joy that is in your soul.

Feel content:
Look around at what you have. Yes, there could always be more, but you have all you need. It’s enough. The more content you are, the more joyful you are and the more will unfold. It is just a matter of time.

Make a difference: GIVE. GIVE. GIVE. You know what to do here. The more you give, the more you receive.

Live in the moment:
Have you gone to the park lately? The swings are there waiting for you. How about a walk around the block, tis the season for beautiful decorations, go see what’s outside.

Be present because it is important. Be grateful. Exercise. Eat well. Feel Joy. Become a morning person. Be kind. Set yourself a challenge and stick to it. Here are some suggestions to find more passion and create a life that fulfills you.

Determine What’s Most Important to You

Is it helping others or personal achievement? Does music move your soul? Do you love to compete? What brings you the most joy and happiness? Your passion in life is hidden in there somewhere. You will find it and don’t quit until you do.

Think Short-term

What could you do right now that sounds exciting to you? While long-term goals can be more meaningful, it’s important to enjoy yourself in the short-term, too. Now might be the time to try skydiving or visiting New Orleans. Maybe it’s finally time to try out for the local theater.

Think Long-term

Pursuits that are more meaningful are likely to require more time and energy. What do you want to do over the next 10+ years? If you could accomplish one thing before the end of your life, what would it be? Imagine your doctor just told you that you only have weeks left to live, what is the one thing you wish you had done?

How do You like To Spend Your Free Time Now?

If you have a few hours or maybe even a full Saturday to yourself, how do you choose to spend it? Are you building a boat in your garage or writing a post for your blog? Your ideal life might include your current hobbies on a larger scale. Think about why you enjoy the hobbies you currently spend time on.

If you were retired, What would you like to do?

If you had more resources and unlimited time each day, how would you choose to spend your time? Describe your perfect day.

Get out of your Comfort zone

Most of us are limited by our fear of failure or a fear of the unknown. However, the most meaningful activities are most likely outside of your comfort zone. Be brave – explore all your opportunities.

Set a Goal to Find Meaning in your life

If you can set a goal to lose 25 pounds, you can set a goal to create a more exciting life. Create a goal to find your life’s passion. Give yourself 30 days and spend a few minutes each morning and night on the task. Close your eyes and listen for the answer. Keep a running list and evaluate it at the end of the month.

Turn off the TV

It’s hard to live a meaningful life full of passion if you’re spending time watching TV. You can find something better to do. Just like JOYELY online programs. We believe you will get a lot out of them because they are easy to follow and anyone can do it.

Do Something New that Makes you Feel Joy

If you’re stuck in a rut, the easiest way to shake up your thinking is to try a new activity. Take a salsa lesson or book a dinner cruise. New experiences help to make each day unique. Humans have been searching for the meaning of life for millennia. While there isn’t a universal answer, it’s possible to find meaning in your own life.

A note from the founder of JOYELY, Sheryl Lynn.

This article is entitled, To Live Your Life on Purpose, Find Joy in Each Day.

Purposeful living is challenging. There is no doubt that waking up each day with a renewed spirit can be difficult but it is possible. For all of us. I am still a student of this “joy” and I purposefully pay attention to joy every day. The picture in this post was of me today. It was a beautiful fall day and I decided to go to the park to play, to swing and listen to the kids running around. It was refreshing and an hour of fun, no TV, a thought moment to plan joy. The more joyful I am, the better I can be for others.
